“Somebody Up There Likes Me”

You might think that an unbreakable family curse is something that only happens in fairy tales, but I’m here to tell you that it’s real.

My little brother died just a few months before the Covid 19 pandemic hit the world and I wrote this book over the long weeks of lockdown.

Somebody Up There Likes Me” is a personal memoir about my family and the discovery that my mum was a carrier for the deadly illness Huntington’s Disease. It’s a story about life, death and facing your darkest fears, and what I learned in the process of caring for my brother. Although the subject matter is very specific, and perhaps sounds gloomy, it is absolutely not a misery memoir. It’s more a story about relationships and the search for purpose and connection. In the end, it’s a story about love.

I read this in one gulp, just couldn’t put it down”. “The best book I’ve read all year.” “Deeply moving, but funny too: a tribute to the strength of love.”

Well, shucks, thanks folks – these comments were all from unsolicited reviews. See what other readers have said, or just take a peek inside the pages here.

In order to reach a wider audience, the book is published by amazon but is also available to buy through my website shop.

Every copy ordered directly from me will be signed and accompanied by a little gift as a thank you, and 10% of all sales go towards research into a cure for Huntington’s Disease.
